It is not necessarily enough to operate every appliance in an entire home at the same time. Actual backup capability depends on your inverter size, appliance power requirements, startup loads, and system configuration.

How long will a 5kWh battery last during an outage?

A 500W average load represents approximately 10 hours of theoretical runtime from 5.12kWh of nominal energy. A 1,000W load represents approximately five hours before inverter losses, battery reserve settings, temperature, and other system factors are considered.
